            iSim - CADSTAR-PSpice interface

CADSTAR Schematics can now be verified and optimised with PSpice simulation prior to the
physical prototype. The user interface does not demand any knowledge of the PSpice file formats,
and anyone who can use CADSTAR can start simulating in minimum time.

Power and signal sources are added in CADSTAR schematics (V1, V2 and V3) and the signals to
be studied are picked out with markers. PSpice calculates all the signals and Probe can
display any of them even if they are not marked, but by doing so, time and effort is saved because
Probe opens with marked signals displayed.

The simulation is defined in the iSim control window, which is opened from CADSTAR Tools menu.
iSim takes care of all the intermediate files, and runs the tools in the correct order; the user only needs to wait for
results. All the PSpice analysis, Transient, AC, DC, Parametric, Monte Carlo and Worst Case, are controlled and
     started in the control window.

Simulation starts automatically and when finished the results are shown in the Probe window. Probe has
several easy-to-use tools to analyse the results. Cut-off frequencies, band widths, Fourier transforms etc.
     are gained in no time.

The component entries in the CADSTAR Parts library need two new attributes - Model, which gives the appropriate
simulation model, and Template, which shows the connectivity from the CADSTAR symbol to the simulation model.
Inca Systems writes for the customers a start-up library which guarantees a kick- start and gives a tutorial for self
     expansion.

A new tool called GenPlib helps user to map PSpice simulation models to existing CADSTAR schematic symbols.
There is no longer need to edit CADSTAR parts libraries manually to include attributes required by iSim.

PSpice has more than 18.000 simulation models, and internet is a good channel for finding models for both new and
     ancient components.

iSim runs on Windows 2000 and XP.
